Hello, I’m Tom!!!
I'm a freelance photographer based in Basingstoke, England, though I currently split my time between there and Southampton, where I'm in my final year of university studying physics (yes, quite different from photography!). If you ask anyone who knows me, they'll likely say my true passion lies in photography over my degree.
I first got interested in photography when my friend had a DSLR and I wanted to try, that was 7 years ago. My first photos were terrible, with the occasional random good photo, but over the years I’ve slowly improved over time (atleast I hope so).
Most of my photography was when I was on holiday, so predominately landscape photography. But it was occasionally mixed with photos of my family skiing or my dad windsurfing with my telephoto lens. I even dabbled in astrophotography (which had varying successes and failures). More recently my variety grew even more with aviation (airshows), automotive, architecture and cities, and finally wildlife. I always like trying new types of photography and improving my skills, composition techniques and lighting.
While I have seven years of photography experience, my focus has primarily been personal projects. Now, I'm stepping into the world of professional photography, working on club and event photography, sports, as well as pet and portrait sessions—ultimately aiming to specialize in weddings. At university, I collaborate with the Southampton University Photography Society (SUPS), where I've had the opportunity to shadow events like Christmas parties and sports matches. I'm also set to photograph the university’s varsity in March.
I still enjoy doing photography outside of client work, especially when I go travelling on a summer or ski holiday. But even on simple walks I take my camera to snap some photos. These photos can viewed in my “Personal & Travel Portfolio” if you interested. I also plan to sell a select few (the best photos) as prints in my future prints store.
Let’s Work Together!
If you're looking for a photographer, whether for an event, portrait session, or something completely different, feel free to reach out! I'm always open to new projects and creative collaborations.
